Nederlands: De bovenstaande vlag was vanaf 1889 de vlag van China en was de opvolger van een soortgelijke vlag die een driehoekige vorm had. De vlag toont een Chinese draak en een zon op een gele achtergrond. De gele kleur staat voor de Mantsjoes, het volk waartoe destijds de Chinese keizer behoorde. De Chinese draak wordt, in tegenstelling tot zijn familie in het Westen, gezien als een teken van geluk en de brenger van regen. Hij is één van de vier hemelse dieren en zou tevens de stichter zijn van de keizerlijke familie van de Qing-dynastie. In 1911 werd China een republiek en werd een andere vlag aangenomen.
