Nancy Dow (born July 22, 1936) is an American actress who appeared in a brief group of films. She was married to Greek-American actor John Aniston with whom she had one child, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Jennifer Aniston. She is also the mother of John T. Melick.
Dow was born in New York, New York, the daughter of Louise (née Grieco) and Gordon McLean Dow. Dow's mother was Italian and her father was of Scottish descent. She is the younger sister of Joan Dow and Jean Dow, and the older sister of Linda Dow, Martha Dow and Sally Dow.
Dow and her daughter Jennifer Aniston became estranged for nearly a decade, because she talked about her famous daughter on a TV show and later wrote a book titled From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir (1999).[1] In 2005, after Jennifer Aniston's divorce from Brad Pitt, mother and daughter reconciled.[2]
