Stickam is a social networking website that features user-submitted pictures, audio, video, and most prominently, live video chat. Additionally, it allows users to embed their streaming webcam feeds into other web sites via a Flash player.[1] Stickam is operated by Advanced Video Communications, Inc., an Internet communications company founded in 2004.[2]

User Capabilities
Live Chat
Live chat allows the user to display their webcam live feed over the internet. The user has the ability to choose who can view their live stream. In the actual stream room, there are 7 camera spots, The biggest one centrally located, is for the owner of the chat. The other six spots are for six other people to stream their live webcam feed. The Live chat also allows users to chat through a chat box similar to what you would see on any regular chat site. The main user can kick or ban people who are disruptive or threatening. The main user also has to power to make people moderators which are trusted people who can kick people if the main user is unable to do so.
Chat Rooms
Chat rooms are for many users to chat in, instead of a live with only 7 camera spots, the chat room allows 12 people to stream live. Chat rooms have many of the same properties that live chats do. The most popular chat is "Singles Chat."
Debate Rooms
Debate rooms are set up like chat rooms but the are made for people to debate over a certain topic, unlike chat rooms, these rooms are not open at all times.
Entertainer
An entertainer is someone who is featured and promoted by Stickam, for being entertaining and having a unique or fun style of entertainment. Being an entertainer allows you to be featured which will attract more people to your live. As an entertainer you can have a profile banner, whereas a regular user cannot. To become an entertainer, you have to apply and give your reasons to why you want to become one and you may even be watched the next few times you go live by Stickam administrators.
Privacy
Stickam has a team of moderators to make sure everything on the site is safe and appropriate. To join Stickam you have to be at least 14 years of age. Stickam allows you to create your own privacy settings which many find very helpful.
News
Johnathon Richard Hock, 20, a former Stickam Entertainer was charged with rape, which he broadcasted live on the site. On February 26, 2009, Hock allegedly setup his laptop webcam and had sex with an unconscious female that he had begun dating two weeks prior. The footage was uploaded to another website, and was then brought to the attention of the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Hock was arrested June 1st in reference to the assault. [3]
